Back at the start of my time with guitarguitar, I had one of those “how is this my job?” moments — I was invited to the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow to film a one-on-one interview with the legendary John Petrucci of Dream Theater.

It was pure run-and-gun filmmaking: quick setup, tight timing, no fuss — just cameras rolling and adrenaline pumping. But the day didn’t end there.

John invited us to their show that night at the Royal Concert Hall, and I was given full access to roam the venue, capturing live B-roll and stills throughout the set. For a long-time fan, it was completely surreal.

To top it off, we ended the night backstage with the band — hanging out, chatting, and soaking it all in.

A dream gig in every sense.
